"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover"
- Mark Twain
Well here we are again. Its the start of another New Year, 2013 to be precise.
Imagine if you will 1000 years from now. Would anyone think, "what were those people of 2013 up to?" Did they leave any mark on mankind? Any footprints, Internet footprints for us see what they really thought?
Naturally this got me thinking about this blog: The Random Ridiculous Rants and Ramblings of Rubi Red.
It all began back in 2000. Yes the year of the dot.com, when Internet was the craze of the free thinkers. I was lucky to be working along side some of the early adopters and first Internety, I mean mobile Internety geeks at Genie Internet which later became O2. These guys were smart, very smart, very entrepreneurial. The mantra "Man, we can do this" greeted every challenge we met. No time for the incessant What, But or even Why. We just did stuff. We just did. Its called innovation.
So its 13 years of my web and blog precence and I guess I owe my web footprints to the Chief Architect at O2, Jag. Yes Mr Blog himself. His very famous blog http://route79.org/journal/ featuring his musings and reflections of London travel on his way home and his delicious Indian cookery now sadly lies dormant, but not dead I hope! Thanks for the plug Jag! How ironic
Do blogs like most things just wither and die? when there is nothing left to say ?
Please say they don't. They stay as youthful looking, enticing and luring as the day they were first created, just like the Limbal Rings. The window to the soul.
