The Global Green Revolution

" Red is the colour of the new Republic. Blue is the colour of the sea. White is the colour of my innocence. No surrender to your mercy" The Men they couldnt Hang

So we are all urged to go Greener now. Recycle this, recycle that. Biodegradable this, biodegradable that. Carbon neutral, yes. Carbon emission, no. But why does it take a global campaign to state the obvious?

This weekend I travelled North, back to my rightful birth place, the heartland of Britains one time Industrial Revolution, the Black Country http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Country. I love going back home. Get fattened on Mother Rubi Reds fantastic home cooking, the sights, the smells, the accents, the people around me. Its good to be back on familiar home turf. Its a place to recooperate, recharge, and reinvigorate. Ready to face lifes challenges once more with renewed gusto.

No more do the great industrial satanic mills dominate the Black Country skyline. For now the young saplings of the Urban Forest regeneration programme is taking hold, turning the great bygone industrial areas green. You dont have to venture far to find this happening. We went out for an evening stroll across the Staffordshire canalway and came upon a wonderful grass meadow. Such a sight to see as the long grass heads tossed and swayed in the sunshine breeze. Happiness and Hayfever. A toxic combination.

Im forever astounded at my Moms boundless energy. One evenings small walk is never good enough. So come Sunday morning, I'm persuaded to drive to the Wyre Forest in Worcestershire for a "longer" walk. http://www.wyreforest.net/forest.html

I'm glad i did. Back to Nature. Back to Green :)

Part III - Please Give me Second Grace

In this blog is my memory. Part ecstasy, part torture. To explore, and to arrive at the start — and know the place for the first time. Here begins a new enlightenment " You are the music while the music lasts " T. S. Eliot

The Arctic ....ashes to ashes

Travel log - Last month i went on an Arctic Expedition. An Expedition around the Archipeligo island of Svalbard. (Spitsbergen to me and you) http://www.ocnwide.com/ocn.htm Why go there ? i was asked many times over. Many thought i was a lunatic and very very few thought it was fantastic. In fact those few (strangers) thought i had made their day by mentioning this fact. Were they wanting shot of me?? they had only just met me... hmmm i wonder now.... The truth of it was i wanted to find inner peace, a calmness, a happiness from within. I wanted to go there and feel one with the landscape. I would go alone. so did i find it ? did i find my Utopia ? The answer - NO! and i have only myself to blame for this - for I did far too much talking, far too much laughing, far too much merry making.... But its gotta be said .. it was one of the most enjoyable times of mylife. The landscape was absolutely jaw dropping. The majestic glaciers were unbelievable. So unashamedly and unbelievably BEAUTIF...
